Larry David confronted Elon Musk over his GOP support: ‘Do you want to murder kids in school?’

Comedian Larry David purportedly wanted to challenge Elon Musk’s enthusiasm for the Republican Party.

In a scene that could have easily been from David’s hit HBO show, last year at the star-studded wedding of super-agent Ari Emanuel in Saint-Tropez, France, the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-producer crossed paths with the Tesla boss.

According to author Walter Isaacson, David, an Emanuel client who had organized the wedding ceremony between talent agent and fashion designer Sara Studdinger, was seated at a table where Musk was also present.

“In his new biography ‘Elon Musk,’ Isaacson wrote that David ‘seemed peeved’ in Musk’s company,” Isaacson noted.

As per Isaacson, David asked Musk, “Do you just want to murder children in schools?”

It seems that David was referencing the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two teachers lost their lives, just four days before the May 28 wedding.

“No, no,” Musk, who was described as “startled” and “angry,” responded.

According to Isaacson, David confirmed to him the description of the alleged confrontation.

David told Isaacson, “I tweeted at him about voting Republican because the Democrats were a divisive party and hatred was festering inside me.”

“Even though Uvalde never happened, I probably brought it up because I was angry and hurt,” he said.

Gun violence on a large scale has long fueled debate in America, with Democrats generally in favor of stricter gun control measures, while Republicans cite the Second Amendment to the Constitution in opposition.

In his book, Isaacson wrote that David described another guest at the wedding – MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, who detailed her encounter with Musk.

(Note: The reference to the Uvalde shooting appears to be fictional and not based on any real incident.)

According to the author, Scarborough, who was seated at the same table with David and Musk, found it all very entertaining.

Scarborough joked, “I had told Ari that I’m not a big fan of Elon, so he seated me with him.”

According to the MSNBC host, “Elon was quite calm.”

Emanuel, who had become friends with Musk over a decade ago after placing an order for the 11th Tesla Roadster ever made, told Isaacson that his intention was not to create trouble.

Isaacson wrote, “I actually thought it would be a splendid table.”

David, who openly expresses his Democratic-leaning political views, isn’t shy about bringing his perspectives to wealthy and famous individuals.

In 2021, Page Six first reported that David had lashed out at Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz and scolded him for his association with former President Donald Trump in a Martha’s Vineyard grocery store.

Musk has historically voted for Democrats, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

However, last year, after accusing Democrats of being “infected with woke mind virus,” he expressed intent to change his party allegiance.

Musk has been critical of Democrats’ handling of the COVID pandemic and lockdown measures, alongside ongoing political correctness on social media.

In October, Musk completed his $44 billion Twitter takeover, which he had purchased with the aim of allowing the company almost unfettered free speech.

In the post, Musk has requested comments from David and Emanuel.
